About the Candidate

Being a SEN Advisor requires, a distinct skill set and specific qualities are indispensable in effectively aiding students with diverse needs. 

This post will play a supportive role in implementing the Transition Policy and Procedures to improve the transition between different education phases which would ensure continuity of support and reduce potential disruptions to learning. You will liaise with Marketing & Engagement Team to promote the College offer with Special Schools, Secondary Schools with Additional Resource Provision and Alternative Providers. 

Having a compassionate understanding of the struggles and situations of students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), and the ability to establish emotional connections with students to foster a supportive learning atmosphere. Effective communication abilities to collaborate with students, parents, colleagues, and other professionals, ensuring seamless comprehensive support for students.

 

About the Role

The role of a SEN Advisor encompasses a broad array of duties focused on assisting students with various additional requirements. In this capacity, you will assist in the facilitation of seamless transitions within education programmes, contribute to  the review and oversight of Education Health Care Plans (EHCPs) and collaborate with stakeholders, manage caseloads and be a key contact for parents and curriculum staff engaging in personalised transition plans.
