About the role 

Education Partnership North East and Sunderland College is one of largest providers of engineering apprenticeships in the North East region, with over 400 apprentices employed in over 100 advanced manufacturing companies. The majority of these companies operate in the automotive sector. 

An exciting new skills partnership with a large, world class automotive employer in Sunderland means we are seeking to recruit a new delivery team to support the employer’s manufacturing apprenticeship programme.  

The delivery team will also work within the International Advanced Manufacturing Park and closely with the automotive employer to co-design and deliver the apprenticeship programme and with senior leaders in the college to shape the regional skills strategy for this critical sector. 

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, innovative individuals to engage with and inspire a new generation of engineers to support positive student experience, progress and destination. These appointments will offer the opportunity to play a key role in driving forward quality advanced manufacturing engineering provision reflective of the highest industry practice and standards. 

About you 

The successful candidates will be highly motivated, qualified engineers with industry level skills, experience and expertise. We would particularly welcome applications from candidates that hold level 4 vocational and teaching qualifications and have a proven record of training and assessing engineering apprentices. 

You will work with a cohort of engineering apprentices, conducting progress reviews, training and assessing on the competency elements of the apprenticeship and being the main point of contact. Candidates should have excellent interpersonal, I.T. and organisational skills and be mobile throughout the northeast region, as this role involves travelling to employer premises and working across college sites.  

These appointments offer the opportunity for EITHER current education practitioners OR those currently in industry looking for a career change with an ambition to support apprentices. For the latter, the college will support individuals regarding achievement of a teaching qualification within an appropriate timescale upon joining the college.
