About the role

Are you a fully qualified veterinary nurse with at least 2 years of experience in industry and a passion for developing others?  An excellent opportunity has arisen for a 0.4 FTE  (2 days per week), Learning practitioner in veterinary nursing to join our ambitious team at Northumberland College. We are looking for someone with relevant industry experience who is eager to impart their knowledge and ignite enthusiasm for learning in future Veterinary nurses. Join us as a Veterinary Nursing Learning Practitioner and play a pivotal role in shaping the next generation of veterinary nurse practitioners.  

The role is based at Northumberland Colleges’ Land-based campus sited at Kirkley Hall, Ponteland. At Northumberland college we are committed to cultivating a generation of forward-thinking individuals who understand the complexities of modern industry and are equipped to drive positive change in our communities. As a veterinary nursing Learning practitioner, you will have the benefit of utilising our industry standard resources and will have access to a BIAZA registered zoo.  You will be at the forefront of veterinary nursing education, inspiring students to understand veterinary nursing technologies and to think critically and innovatively about the industry they will work in.  

About the Candidate

The successful candidate will be a qualified and experienced veterinary nurse who is passionate about their industry. They will be required to teach programmes at level two and level three, an understanding of these qualifications would be beneficial. A teaching qualification is desirable but not essential to this role as support to achieve a teaching qualification will be offered where applicable to the successful applicant.  Applicants should have minimum of L2 qualifications in Maths and English.
