We're committed to providing you with continuous learning opportunities through a learning offer that starts from induction and continues throughout your career with us.
Induction and Probation
In your first few months with us, you’ll be given support to learn all that’s required to do your job and understand how the College works. You’ll be trained on relevant systems and be invited to join the College’s “Welcome Event”.
We believe that continuous performance management is at the heart of your development. It involves your manager sharing expectations, setting objectives, and offering feedback. And it's a means of helping you to grow your skills, knowledge, and abilities.
Personal Development Conversations (PDC) and 121s
You will be invited to 121s with your manager throughout the year to check in on your progress. You will also have an annual PDC, where your achievements from the previous year and your objectives for next year will be formally reviewed and recorded.
Learning Opportunities
We offer plenty of development opportunities across a broad range of topics and have access to a wider range of funded learning opportunities from short courses, apprenticeships and teacher education and development. We also have an internal employee learning center (uLearn), which provides flexible learning opportunities that you can access anytime, anywhere.
The ulearn portal provides continuous access to learning in relation to An Excellent Start, Essentials for Excellence, Achieving Excellence, and Leading for Excellence. You can also record and reflect on learning that's happened outside of the portal in My Professional Development.
